After Matiang’i went after Matatus the Boda boda riders are now the new target after the Keroka traffic commander Hassan Abdi has promised to take action on the riders who do not meet traffic rules.
According to Mr Hassan, “Interior CS Fred Matiang’i pushed the introduction of new road rules. Bodaboda riders who are yet to adhere to the set rules should consider doing so before the law catches up with them.”
In addition he said, “A crackdown will be done very soon to ensure riders who have not adhered to the set road rules are kept off from the roads. Those who will be caught operating illegally will be arrested and be sent to jail.”
Hassan argued that if boda boda riders will follow the traffic rules, cases of unnecessary accidents will be minimal.
The directive come a day after a Media Max tv presenter passed away following a boda boda accident where he succumbed to head injury for not wearing a helmet.
