Arsenal’s performance last Thursday night at Rennes was shambolic.

Rennes, who are only eighth in the French top flight, beat the Gunners 3-1 in their last-32 tie.

The match started well for Arsenal as Alex Iwobi opened. But the Gunners imploded are Sokratis was sent off.

Benjamin Bourigeaud levelled, a Nacho Monreal own goal put Rennes ahead, while Ismaila Sarr’s third putting the icing on the cake.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Alexandre Lacazette
Arsenal have confirmed their injury and selection report before the Rennes match.

In the bad news, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a doubt for the second leg on Thursday.

Mkhitaryan is struggling with a “mild back strain” which the club say is being assessed.

The Armenian’s absence would be a blow for Arsenal as Mkhitaryan has been in good form since his recent comeback from injury.

In sunnier news, it was confirmed on Tuesday that Alexandre Lacazette is available for selection against Rennes.

Lacazette missed the first leg due to suspension after he was sent off against BATE Borisov.

Arsenal won an appeal which allows Lacazette to start against the Ligue 1 outfit.
