Arsenal player Mesut Ozil gifted a Kenyan herdsboy with a hamper of assorted merchandise including signed jerseys and boots. Ozil ’s attention was drawn after sports journalist Eric Njiru photographed the boy identified as Lawrence, wearing a red t-shirt with the inscription “Ozil 10” as he tended the family cows.
Arsenal
I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi – a city without really grass for cows. He told me he loves @MesutOzil1088 so much(You can see his shirt). Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real @Arsenal shirt. pic.twitter.com/ojDbf1Loil

Here are some of their reactions:
I was once told “ozil” was inaugurated into English language as the synonym for “assist” i.e can you ozil me here, please.

I now come to believe. Thanks from kenya @MesutOzil1088 the man with a thousand hearts
Some even requested him(Ozil) to change his nationality.
Change your nationality to Kenya. Too much love from Kenya. Thank you for this gesture. Those kids will always look up to you. It’s sth small but shows love from your side. Thank you on behalf of them!🌟🌟🌠

A few Kenyans felt much would have been done for the little boy. What’s your take?
If he was playing & he showed talent, I would support this. Otherwise, this boy needs more than a jersey
