ODM has taken a sober move after seeing the irony of disciplining Hon Dori and his Malindi counterpart MP Aisha Jumwa for expressing support for jubilee’s second in command DP Ruto.

The ODM party had disciplined Aisha Jumwa for publicly backing Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid, which Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna termed as gross misconduct.

While the ODM had accused the MP for supporting the DP, Mps allied to the deputy questioned the role of the handshake that had brought disunity among politicians.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen had lashed out at ODM for expelling Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa saying it’s hypocritical.

Jumwa and Dori argued that their association with DP William Ruto, which led to the expulsion, was in the spirit of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

They hence pleaded to appear before the National Governing Council (NGC) of the ODM party in order to defend their positions and actions.

Murkomen said ODM is a party that lives under contradictions as its leader Raila Odinga is working with the government courtesy of the March 9, 2018 handshake.

It has now emerged that the Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa can be spared ejection from the Orange Democratic Movement, party leader Raila Odinga has said.

But first, she must eat humble pie for violating party rules as her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori did.
