Arsenal launch chase for top class midfielder

Napoli  and Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Pablo Fornals to their books.

The Villareal midfielder has been the centre of attention with a number of clubs showing their interest.

The North London club has been reported as the likeliest competition as Napoli are set to crack a deal for the 23-year-old midfielder. 

Sport Witness explained that the Serie A club have already offered wages of €1.5m a year to try and tempt the Spaniard to sign for them.

That would be on a five-year contract and the figure is likely to be after tax, given that’s how football wages are usually reported in the Italian media.

Such an amount would be no problem for Arsenal to compete with, so as long as an agreement could be found with Villarreal or a deal done over buyout clause.

Fornal’s clause ranges from €26m to €30m depending on who is reporting it at the time, and it’s certainly not thought to be an amount which would scare away those interested.
