Video: See what Alex Iwobi and and Matteo Guendouzi did for fans during Aubameyang’s penalty against Man United

Arsenal fans have been praising subs Alex Iwobi and Mateo Guendozi for what they both did before Aubameyang took his penalty against Manchester United.  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sparked wild celebrations at the Emirates as he delivered the vital second goal in their 2-0 home win over Manchester United . After his recent penalty miss against Tottenham , some fans were probably too nervous to watch as the striker stepped up to try and put their massive Premier League game out of reach.

But for those that could not miss the defining moment of the game, Arsenal’s substitutes offered a helping hand. Matteo Guendouzi and Alex Iwobi were amongst those warming up on the touchline when Aubameyang was taking the penalty after Alexandre Lacazette was fouled by Fred in the area.

But they took drastic action and lay on the ground as he stepped up to ensure supporters behind them had a clear view of the tense moment.

Aubameyang delivered the goods with his calm finish putting the game beyond reach and sealing a huge three points to put the Gunners back up to fourth place. Iwobi eventually came on for Mesut Ozil as they closed the game out, whilst Guendouzi did not feature on a memorable afternoon.

Footage shared on social media shows the pair drop to the turf and look back to check fans in the lower tier are able to see the action. The video was accompanied by a tweet saying: “Cheers for ducking down for us lads. Got a lovely view for that penalty.”
