One suspect arrested in connection to the kidnapping of an EACC official


Shaban Wangatia Otinda was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly kidnapped an employee of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

The 37-year-old man, a resident of Kitengela, is said to have abducted the employee before demanding for a Sh.2 million ransom.

According to a statement from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Otinda was nabbed as he prepared to collect the money.

Further, the police revealed that the victim has since been rescued and is safe and sound.

The suspect is set to be arraigned in court today.
