Governor Okoth Obado Finally Recieves the Blessings of Raila Odinga

For sometime now, Migori Governor Okoth Obado has not been seeing eye to eye with Opposition Chief Raila Odinga.

The two have been reportedly in bad blood with each other only for the Migori Senatorial by-elections to make things worse between them.

Obado went against ODM Party’s resolve to support current Senator Ochillo Ayacko and instead opted to support Ochillo Ayacko’s main rival Eddy Oketch.

Obado would later be arrested while in the midst of campaigns for his preferred Candidate Eddy with grave allegations of murder labelled against him.

After his arrest, Raila Odinga mocked him and even asked him to carry his own cross.

Obado would soon get out on bail and begin a new onslaught against Raila Odinga. He decided to dine with Ruto and even promised to work with him.

This, many people viewed as the last nail on Raila’s Coffin.

Fast Foward, Obado is serving his people of Migori and today in his capacity as the County Chief, he joined Raila Amollo Odinga and a host of other leaders from the Sugarcane growing areas.

This was after promising discussions between the former Prime Minister and the CS for Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjiri, on revetalisation of the sugarcane sector, where they agreed to have a retreat between the leadership from ministry and the leadership Sugarcane growing areas in Kisumu at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel, to concertise the next course of action in sector.

Raila Odinga said The survival of the Sugar industry as a viable enterprise will require exemplary cooperation and understanding between all stakeholders including farmers, millers, the counties and the national government.

Well, it seems like the woes of Sugarcane farmers brought with it something great as it is a great feeling seeing Raila and Obado shake hands and exchange smiles.
