Boniface Mwangi attacks first lady Margaret Kenyatta

Former Starehe aspirant and Human rights activist Boniface Mwangi is known for critising everything about President Kenyatta’s government.

Activist Mwangi has now urged the DCI George Kinoti to investigate claims that First Lady Margaret Kenyatta may have awarded same participant twice during Sunday’s Beyond Zero Marathon.

In a video making rounds on social media, a lady believed to be the same, is seen walking to the podium twice but in different shirts, something that has drawn attention of many Kenyans.

The unidentified lady purportedly wins 21 kilometers and 10 kilometers races, an impossibility since the two races where being undertaken concurrently.

“Kenya’s @FirstLadyKenya seems to have awarded the same person as the number one for 10Km and a 2nd medal for the 21Km race.

“The said “winner” switched shirts.Where are the genuine winners? Can @DCI_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE get to the bottom of this?” he protested.

According to the Standard, Brilliant Kipkoech won the 21 kilometers race and was supposed to be given Sh250,000 while Margaret Chelimo was the winner of 10 kilometers race where she was supposed to take home Sh100,000.

It is not clear however whether one of them instructed the other to take the prize for her or it was an organised move by the organisers to deprive genuine winners.

During the event, President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was accompanied by DP William Ruto and sports Minister Amina Mohammed, promised to sponsor all national teams in future encounters.
