Why Angered Solskjaer is Suing a Betting Company

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has threatened to sue a beeting company.

According to his lawyer Erik Flagan , Solskjaer is going to take a legal action against Paddy Power betting company after his image was allegedly used in an advert by the betting company without his consent.

A picture of Solskjaer was used in an advert by the betting company which jibed at Prime Minister Theresa May. “Theresa, time to try the Norwegian mode?” the ad said, alongside odds of 1.06 for Solskjaer to be named the permanent United manager.

Solskjaer was shown the advert in an interview by Norwegian TV, and he was clearly unhappy with the betting company, “I promise you I will send this to my lawyer. They will have big problems with me. It is a betting company, I should not have anything to do with it.”

His lawyer Erik Flagan was not surprised by the betting company’s move owing to his client’s popularity, “This is illegal. The use of personal images in a commercial context without the consent of the depicted is illegal both in Norway and England. In this type of case, it is common to first prohibit and demand compensation. This is done routinely on behalf of Solskjaer in all such cases.”
