Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has yet again been subjected to criticism over his ongoing defense on construction of Sh21 billion dams which has attracted the attention of sleuths.

On Friday, DPP Noordin Haji said the Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal is of ‘high magnitude’ adding that his office had deployed more investigators to help DCI George Kinoti unearth the scandal.

And Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut now claims Murkomen only puts attention in issues where ODM leader Raila Odinga is dragged, adding that he rarely advances interests of his people.

“When will Murkomen address issues affecting farmers in Rift Valley? He is quick to jump on Raila and Arror-Kimwarer Dan but slow to act on matters affecting it’s people,” he said.

The longtime aide to Nicholas Biwott added: “The biggest threat to the building bridges initiative is @RailaOdinga, the handshake is only being used as a 2022 campaign.”

The second term senator accuses DCI George Kinoti of witch-hunt in the war against graft, and in is on record claiming that DP William Ruto is the ultimate target.

Mr Murkomen has also insisted that no money was lost in the project and warned that unidentified people are out to sabotage construction of the project.

Since last year, Murkomen has rarely addressed the plight of maize farmers and at times he’s been heard asking them to abandon maize farming.
