Miguna Miguna: It is not the “number of eaters” that matter but the volume of public wealth they eat

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has poked holes into President Uhuru Kenyatta’s war against graft.

The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader argued that the investigative agencies in the country can not investigate the Head of State over corruption allegations because they are headed by individuals who were handpicked by Uhuru himself.

Miguna claimed that Uhuru picked Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Nordin Haji without the general public playing even a single role in the nomination process.

“It was @UKenyatta who singlehandedly handpicked the DCI Kinoti and DPP Haji without public participation, competitive and objective hiring process. Anyone who expects Kinoti and Haji to act independently or to investigate Uhuru and his cronies need a brain transplant. #DevCon2019,” said Miguna on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

This comes after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi accused Uhuru of involvement in corruption scandals, citing the recent planned takeover of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by the national carrier Kenya Airways, which has been linked to the Kenyatta family.

In his response, Uhuru said anyone with information that he has been engaging in corruption should report the same to the DCI instead of making wild accusations during funerals.
