Romelu Lukaku comes open about what he and Rashford said before taking the decider spot kick

Rashford’s spot kick was the match decider in the Champions clash with PSG at a time when the two teams were at par, they all had two away goals and the match was headed for an extra time.

It was unclear who would take the penalty kick since the designated taker, Pogba was not in the game but it was obvious Lukaku would take it to add his tally to three, hat-trick but it was not going to be like that. Lukaku is said to have engaged Pogba in a heated quarrel after denying him a chance to get a hat-trick during their clash with Southampton which he missed.

Romelu Lukaku has opened up on his conversation with Marcus Rashford ahead of his last-gasp penalty against PSG.

Rashford scored from the spot in stoppage time as United capped an incredible comeback to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Lukaku already had two goals to his name when the penalty was awarded for a handball by Presnel Kimpembe.

But the Belgian didn’t go for his hat-trick and let Rashford step up to fire past Gianluigi Buffon.

Lukaku had also been denied the match ball when Paul Pogba took a late penalty against Southampton on Saturday, only to miss.
