Is Francis Atwoli a ‘Prophet’?

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has in the past made a number of predictions which have come to pass, including those involving former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Appearing on Citizen TV’s JK Live, the bold leader revealed that he predicted the handshake and Raila subsequently getting an international appointment.

In an earlier episode on the same show, at the height of the rivalry between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila, Atwoli advised Uhuru to visit the then opposition leader and call a truce. Less than a year later, the prediction came to pass.

“You called it, remember that time, there was so much tension, the inauguration, illegal one, the country was spiralling,” posted the show’s host Jeff Koinange.

“And indeed, after that, on 9th of March, there was a handshake, the ninth of this month, it will be one year,” he indicated.

“At a conference at Solidarity Building, I also proposed that if it were me, I would give Raila, I would liaise with African Union, get him an appointment, have big offices somewhere in Upper Hill and he becomes an Africa Union Ambassador.

“So It has come to pass,”  continued Atwoli.

The outspoken leader further took the opportunity to offer pieces of advice to Deputy President William Ruto over his simmering dispute with both Raila and Uhuru.

He praised Ruto as a shrewd politician with a potential of becoming the next president but lacks good personal advisers in his circles.

“Ruto is a good politician, he is a shrewd politician, he is articulate with issues and can be our president but he lacks good advisers. If you have supporters who can dare the head of state then you cannot make it; those are the people who will bring him (Ruto) down,” he posed.
