Just like embattled Deputy president William Ruto, Kenya’s treasury cabinet secretary’s ground has been shaking in the transpiring corruption allegations that has seen Kenyans complain that together with the likes of CS Kiunjuri they should be sent home by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The height of his woes was seen yesterday when the Directorate of criminal investigations office grilled him for a whole 12 hours

The CS was meeting the detectives for the second time, as they sought to establish how he approved payments of more than Sh20 billion to a broke Italian firm to put two dams in Elgeyo Marakwet, where millions has been paid out to companies for unrelated goods and services.

Yesterday, the minister arrived before the detectives at 5.40am with his lawyer Katwa Kigen

Kigen explained that the reason the questioning took so long was that they were dealing with international contracts which took time to break down.

“It took a while for investigators to understand how international contracts work,” told journalists as he left the DCI headquarters.

He added that his client had answered all the questions and provided all the information that was being sought by investigators. The questions were rumoured to be 300.

He returned the following day a few minutes past 8am only to leave at 8.45pm after a long day of questioning.
