Saido Berahino, the Stoke striker, wore the face of embarrassment after awarding himself a parking ticket while in court on his drink-drive charge.

The Stoke striker, who could face further disciplinary action from his club, pleaded not guilty following his arrest in the early hours of February 18.

“What the f*** are you doing man, get the f*** out the man, stupid. F****** idiots,” he angrily muttered.

Berahino’s day was about to get worse though as he discovered a parking ticket on his Mercedes sports car.

The former West Brom striker will fight the drink-driving charge because he claims he was trying to escape an attack by armed robbers, the court heard on Wedneday.

The Stoke forward was stopped by police last month after officers were called to an incident outside VQ, a 24-hour restaurant near London’s West End.

He claimed that he was fleeing from a gang who had attacked him and stolen his watch.

The alleged incident took place at 3am on Great Russell Street.

He joined the Potters in January 2017 in a £12m deal from West Brom, having been linked with a move to Tottenham .

Berahino, of Old Penkridge Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, denies drink driving.

His trial will he held at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on May 15.
