Raila tells Ruto to start preparing his stomach for skumawiki

Opposition chief Raila Odinga has hinted that those found to have mismanaged funds meant for the construction of dams will be dealt with in a manner that other foreign nations that have held senior politicians.

Raila gave an example of the Korean and Brazilian nations that has jailed corrupt figures. Kenyans are yet to see politicians converted to inmates and eat sukumawiki which is served to inmates.

Raila told off DP William Ruto over his remarks on the Elgeo -Marakwet dam scandal and told him to be patient and wait for the investigations to be completed.

Raila was speaking in the 6th devolution conference where he said Kenya had to take a different approach in the fight against corruption if Kenyans are to benefit from taxes.

The Opposition chief told Ruto to stop misleading Kenyans as the truth will finally be out. Raila further questioned how the Deputy President William Ruto got the information on the loss of dam project funds.

“If we are talking about the theft in the dams project, don’t come and tell us it was not Sh20 billion, it was only Sh7 billion. Let the investigating authorities complete their investigations. Who are you to tell us? How did you know?” Raila posed.


Raila further claimed that politicians have politicized war on graft thus hindering the process to tame it. “Development will not happen unless we tame corruption. Corruption is a worldwide phenomenon. The difference is the actions taken once it is discovered.”

“It is a flat lie, the money in question is Sh7 billion and for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee, no money will be lost because we are a responsible Government, we have engaged all arms of the Government to ensure that public resources are safe,” said the DP.
He further insisted that facts should be gotten right in order to nail the corruption suspects.
The animosity between the two leaders has blown up yet again in the recent past renewing their supremacy battle.
