Ozil passes a heartwarming message to Boateng after Germany axing

Ozil's message to Boateng after Germany axing

Mesut Ozil has for the time talked about his brutal axing from the Germany national team on Tuesday .

He publicly voiced his support for Jerome Boateng .

Die Mannschaft boss Joachim Low revealed Boateng, Mats Hummels and Thomas Muller will not be called into the national team effectively ending their international careers.

Ozil tweeted a photo of him and Boateng with the caption: “Chin up Bro, since our very beginnings in the youth National teams we celebrated so many special moments together. You’re truly a friend and a great person on and off the pitch.”

The trio has struggled for form this season with Low claiming he now wants to give the youth a chance.

“I thank Mats, Jerome and Thomas for the many successful, extraordinary and unique years we shared, now it is time to set the course for the future. We want to give the team a new look,” Low said in a statement issued by the German FA.

“I am convinced that this is the right step. The youngsters coming through will have the room they need to grow. Now it’s up to them to take on responsibility.”

However, Ozil’s failure to acknowledge the other two will raise a few eyebrows given his controversial retirement from the national team last year.
