Tottenham Hotspur are furious with the Football Accossation over their decision to hand Mauricio Pochettino a two-match touchline ban, according to the Telegraph.

The north London club believe that the FA have been more lenient towards Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp this season.

The Argentine will now be absent from Spurs’ next two games against Southampton and Liverpool.

Klopp has twice escaped receiving a touchline ban from the FA this season.

The German entered the pitch against Everton after his side scored a 96th-minute winner.

He also accused referee Kevin Friend of being bias after Liverpool’s draw with West Ham United last month.

Nuno Santo Espirito also avoided a touchline ban for entering the field of play to celebrate a late goal.

However, Pochettino was hit with a straight ban for his actions in confronting Mike Dean after a defeat to Burnley.

The 47-year-old has often demonstrated exemplary behaviour in the past, but the FA have been unforgiving in his case.

A spokesperson from the FA confirmed Pochettino’s ban:

“Mauricio Pochettino has been fined £10,000 and will serve a two-match touchline ban following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.

“The Tottenham Hotspur manager accepted an improper conduct charge from The FA, which resulted from his language and/or behaviour – both on the pitch and in or around the tunnel area – at the end of the game against Burnley on 23 February.”
