Is There Any Team With More Enemies Than Real Madrid?

Luis Suarez was among the Barcelona favourites to poke fun at Real Madrid after they were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The former Liverpool striker took to Twitter after the game to react to Real Madrid’s 4-1 defeat by Ajax; the team he played for before moving to Anfield.

Suarez quote tweeted the Dutch club’s official account confirming the result, writing: “Congratulations, I have always been a fan of Ajax.”

The forward isn’t the only Barcelona-connected star to comment on Los Blancos’ shock last-16 defeat at the Bernabeu.

The former captain of the Catalan club Carlos Puyol simply posted: “OMG,” alongside celebratory and shocked face emoji’s after the match.

Real Madrid went into the tie with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg and were favourites to progress to the quarter-finals at home.

But Ajax stunned the Spanish giants from the first minute to the last, battering them 4-1 to win 5-3 on aggregate.

The win sealed Ajax a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2003.

It was also the first time the Amsterdam-based side has won a Champions League knock-out tie in 22 years.
