Deputy president William Ruto dismissed that the money in question is Ksh 7 billion and not sh 21 billion as alleged.

However, the CS did not read from the same script like Ruto’s and claimed that it is actually Sh 21 billion that has gone to the project.

The DCI is grilling the CS for the second day now after appearing before the detectives on Tuesday where he was questioned for 12 hours.

The DCI is investigating the payouts of Sh21 billion in the Kimwarer and Arrom dam projects in Elgeyo Marakwet County. On Tuesday, the minister arrived before the detectives at 5.40am with his lawyer Katwa Kigen. By 6.30pm, sources revealed that the detectives had already covered half of the questions.

The parliament has suspended the construction of 24 dams worth Sh 188 billion for lack of proper procedures.
