Gareth Bale is “a leader”, but Ben Davies is not convinced that his compatriot will be joining him at Tottenham.
Bale has been linked with a return to Tottenham, who he left in summer 2013 to join Real Madrid.
His time in Spain has gradually worsened, so much so that agent Jonathan Barnett launched a scathing attack on Real’s fans this week.
It has predictably been suggested that the Welshman could therefore return to the Premier League with Spurs, Chelsea or Manchester United, but Davies was coy when asked about the rumours on Monday.
“I can’t really comment on him coming to Spurs,” he said. “I don’t know if that’s even possible.
“But when we play with him with the national team he’s a leader, he loves his football and he loves being the man with the talent in the team.
“He shows us…he sets the example on the pitch and he’s a joy to play with.”
