Man Utd Boss Ole Gunnar STILL House-Hunting – And A LIVERPOOL Star Is To Blame

Solskjaer was awarded the United job on an interim basis in December and swiftly moved into the Lowry Hotel just like his predecessor Jose Mourinho.

But it now looks like the Norwegian’s stay in Manchester is set to be extended beyond the summer after a run of strong results.

However, Solskjaer can’t return to the house he owns in Cheshire, due to the fact Van Dijk is renting the pad with his family.

The former United striker lived in the £4m property during his playing days and attempted to offload it a few years ago after presuming he wouldn’t be returning to Manchester.

However, Solskjaer couldn’t shift the house and ended up renting it to Van Dijk upon his transfer from Southampton to Liverpool.

A source told the Sun: “The property is the one Ole and his family lived in since his time at United and when he moved away it was eventually put up for sale.

“But when no takers came it was offered for rent – and when Van Dijk signed for Liverpool he came to see it and loved it.

“Ole probably never thought he would be coming back to Manchester but now he is it really is ironic he can’t move back into his old place which he still owns.

“There are a few grins from people who know that Van Dijk is the tenant – a player for one of United’s fiercest rivals!”

Solskjaer remains on the lookout for a new place but is yet to have been publicly offered the United job on a full-time basis.

The Red Devils have only suffered one defeat under their former player, losing 2-0 to PSG at Old Trafford last month.

United travel to the Parc des Princes this week in the hope of overturning the deficit in the French capital.

Meanwhile, Van Dijk and his Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich in their second leg after drawing 0-0 at Anfield.
