Jose Mourinho has once again attempted to make his decision to let Mo Salah leave Chelsea seem sane – claiming he was ‘lonely’, ‘naive’ and ‘fragile’ during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho signed Salah from Fiorentina, beating the Reds to his signature, only to then completely misuse him.

Rather than just admit he made a massive error, Mourinho just can’t bring his ego to admit he made a mistake and continues to concoct excuses.

Salah’s old boss told beIN Sports:

“He arrived at Chelsea, coming from Basel, as a lonely boy, a naive boy, completely out of context and physically fragile.

“Then he goes to Italy. He has the experience at Fiorentina, he has the experience at Roma and when he comes back to England he comes completely adapted to the high level of European football.”

44 goals in his debut season with the Reds, and 17 in the Premier League so far this season, suggests that Salah always had the talent, but it was the man in control of allowing that to flourish that wasn’t up to the job.

At £36 million, Salah has proved to be one of the biggest bargains of the century – so thanks, Jose!
