Is Mourinho Just Jealous of United Caretaker Manager?

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho appears to have suggested that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s incredible impact at Old Trafford may not continue.

Solskjaer replaced Mourinho at United in December and he has overseen a remarkable turnaround with his side now unbeaten in 12 Premier League matches.

The fine run of form has seen them move into the top four with a Champions League place now possible after their 3-2 victory over Southampton on Saturday.

United could now give the interim boss the job on a permanent basis although Mourinho doesn’t seem convinced that the impact will continue under the ex-United striker.

Speaking on beIN Sports, Mourinho provided analysis on Fulham’s decision to sack Claudio Ranieri with Scott Parker. He compared the situation to the decision taken to replace him at Old Trafford.

“Can you compare the experience between Claudio and Scott, who is going to coach a team for the first time? Not at all.

“But sometimes in football, and you have the example with my former club (Man Utd hiring Solskjaer), that sometimes changes on the immediate – I don’t believe too much in these changes in the long term – but these changes on the immediate, there are sometimes some positive results.”
