As the tenure Kenya Revenue Authority’s Chairperson comes to an end, he has a legacy to show for his Seven-year stay at Times Tower.

One of his major advocacy was digitization of revenue collection. The certified public accountant had vowed to leverage on technology as a tool for collection of revenues.

Tax revenues increased steadily over his tenure though Njiraini never hit tax revenues.

The treasury has consistently over the last three years pushed KRA to hit the revenue targets in order to suppress the huge budgetary requirements.

In the next financial year, KRA seeks to collect Sh 2.298 trillion.

KRA hopes to add over 500,000 more tax payers to hit the targets. The taxpayer include 418,000 individual tax payers, 10,500 corporates and 1.56 million small enterprises.
