Western leaders summon the government to arrest lightning

Leaders in Kakamega has called on the government to help them install lighting arrestors in schools and public amenity areas to avoid tragedies in the oncoming storms season.

The leaders led by MP for Navakholo Emmanuel Wangwe said that Kakamega is vulnerabe to storms and lightning that often causes calaminty.

Last year, two deaths of pupils were reported at Esumeiya Primary School during a sporting activity.

In Lugari, a 48 year old man was also killed by lightning in his house amid a heavy downpour. Other members of his family were injured.

The law maker has initiated a lightning arresting project but has called on the government to help him in funding oncoming projects
