Two police officers reported dead and 11 civilians injured in Likoni Accident

Two police officers reported dead and 11 civilians injured on Monday morning following an accident that happened at Waa area on the Likoni-Lunga Lunga highway in Kwale County.

The accident occurred after a tuk-tuk carrying the two officers collided head-on with a 14-seater heading to Lunga-Lunga.

Eleven passengers were also injured in the accident but were rushed to the hospital.

Matuga OCPD Joel Chesire noted that investigations were underway to establish the cause of the accident.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Coast General Hospital.

In a separate incident, DP William Ruto’s pilot Mario Magonga and four American tourists died on Sunday evening in a helicopter crash in Turkana County.

“Security personnel dispatched to the scene confirmed that among the five were four Americans and the Kenyan Pilot,” stated the National Police Service in a statement Monday morning.
