Both Mourinho and Sarri come comes into Kepa’s defense

Mourinho, Sarri speak favourably of Kepa

Both Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho have come into Kepa Arrizabalaga’s defense.

The two have termed him as human who understood his mistakes and acted accordingly.

Kepa refused to be subbed off during the Carabao Cup final at Wembley where they played and lost to Manchester City in the post-match penalties. He was subsequently dropped for the midweek London derby against Tottenham Hotspur but was restored for the west London Derby against Fulham where he helped Chelsea to win their first away win in 2019.

“Kepa is a man. He understood the mistake. He was able to react very well,” Sarri told BBC Sports.

“There were a lot of factors that made us think it was big – in the end, it was not that big because it was a misunderstanding. I have a few friends at the club and everyone speaks amazingly well about Kepa. They say he is a great kid and is not capable of this confrontational attitude and when the inside information is this positive, I believe this.” Mourinho told beIn Sports.

Sarri did defend the keeper after the match at Wembley pointing out to a misunderstanding between him and his goalkeeper.
