Cold blooded criminals have reportedly been stopped amidst mission of human trafficking after detectives, who were acting on a tip-off, unearthed a human trafficking human in Kakamega on Sunday.
38 women, aged between 19 and 45, were preparing to travel to the Middle East where when they were nabbed.
A 33-year-old woman, who was facilitating their movement, was also arrested and is being detained at Kakamega Central Police Station.
The women had reportedly secured jobs as casual laborers in the Middle East and were putting up at a local school ahead of their journey.
Kakamega Central Sub County Police Commander David Kabena revealed that that the facilitator had hired space at the school to host a religious function.
However, the school’s management became suspicious when they noticed that no religious function was going on.
They decided to inform the police who raided the institution and arrested the women.
Kabena revealed that the suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday, March 4.
