Wolverhampton Wanderers may have suffered a humbling 1-0 defeat to the Premier League’s bottom side last time out but things remain very positive in the Molineux camp and they have even gone back up to seventh in the table without kicking a ball on Wednesday.

Despite their lowly league position, Huddersfield Town have now done the double over Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, beating them on Tuesday night at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The following day, however, Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Watford dented the Hornets’ goal difference to the extent that it allowed Wolves to leapfrog them in the table.

It proved a nice little boost for Wanderers ahead of Saturday’s league fixture against another struggling team in Cardiff City, but with two draws and a defeat in their last three top-flight games, there will be an eagerness to get back to winning ways.

Nonetheless, Conor Coady was eager to look at the bigger picture, with the club doing extraordinarily well in their first season back in the big time, not to mention a superb run in the FA Cup where they will lock horns with Manchester United for a place in the quarter-finals.

The Wolves captain hailed Nuno as the reason for the success and also spoke about how he and his teammates have reacted to the Portuguese’s coaching style before mentioning the recipe for their success so far this term.

“Since (Nuno)’s come in, he’s taken the club in a totally different direction,” Coady told the official Wolves Website “Him and all his staff have been remarkable in terms of how they’ve got us playing, the identity they’ve brought to the club.

“Everybody’s been listening and learning because they know all of his ideas are really good. The club has gone in a really good direction and a lot of it is down to him. It’s massively important to listen to your manager and take on board his ideas. That’s what has brought success, us taking it a game at a time.”
