Machakos county plans benchmarking tour to Jordan

Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has today hinted on plans to tour Jordan in the efforts to build relations and identify other areas of cooperation.

This comes after the Governor received H.E. Dr. Slaiman Arabiat, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Mr. Wesham Akroush, Economic counselor when they paid a courtesy call to his Machakos Office.

Alfred Mutua noted that they discussed areas of cooperation, especially in agriculture where Machakos is keen to explore the export market for goat and sheep meat and horticultural products like mangoes and honey, as they get high quality cheaper fertilizer from Jordan.

They also discussed on the possibility of having exchange programs for their medical staff, joint training for their officers as well as cooperation in the education sector.

This move will go a long way in boosting the relations between Kenya in general and Jordan.
