Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said Wednesday’s 5-0 win over Watford was an “important sign” and labelled Mo Salah “unplayable”.

Liverpool brushed aside concerns about their recent struggles as Sadio Mane had a starring role in a resounding 5-0 win at home to a toothless Watford.

It was a night in which Liverpool’s defenders stole the show, with Trent Alexander-Arnold creating three goals, Virgil van Dijk scoring twice and Andy Robertson providing an assist too.

Mane, meanwhile, was picked to lead the line in the absence of Roberto Firmino and struck twice in the first half, though Salah was unable to add to his season tally of 17 goals but Klopp was most satisfied with Salah’s efforts.

“How Mo played, come on that was unbelievable!” the Liverpool boss said in his post-match press conference.

“It was an important sign. These boys are outstanding. Today they showed such passion but also how to play – positioning, passing, and some great crossing,” Klopp told the BBC.

“It’s just a special night. We want to play like this, we want to be this team, use our power, play with our skills.

“The game from Mo [Salah] was incredible. Sadio [Mane] scored a brilliant goal. All three midfielders were outstanding. Both centre-halves played outstanding.

“We won 5-0 so you don’t talk about them but they had their moments. Even Alisson was great. the boys who came on controlled the game. A lot to talk about.”
