Governor Kingi unveils plan to transform Kilifi rural areas to economic hubs

Kilifi County Governor Amason Kingi has revealed the efforts of his administration to transform Kilifi rural areas to economic hubs.

This comes after he held a round table meeting with a delegation from the Kenya Roads Board led by the Executive Director Engineer Jacob Ruwa earlier yesterday.

Kingi noted that roads sector is a critical enabler of other sectors in their County.

“This enabling aspect is why we have made deliberate efforts to lay down quality road infrastructure to ensure inclusive development Countywide.” he stated

The Kilifi Governor also added that they are engaging state corporations under the Ministry of Transport and infrastructure to ensure they transform their once “rural” areas into prosperous economic hubs through infrastructure development.

So far, Kilifi County has opened up over 1000Km of new roads which have opened up new areas, created business opportunities, improved access to markets, schools and hospitals as well as eased movement of people and goods.

Kingi assured that they will remain committed to improve infrastructure across the County to attract more investors and create employment opportunities for our people.
