Police in Nairobi was engaged in a running battle with suspected thieves who threw grenades the police officers in Monday evening along Thika road. Police trailed them when they were returning from a theft attack.
According to Police report, the five suspects were in a gang of nine that was spotted riding at high speed on three motor cycles near Mathare 29/30 terminus.
On spotting them, police who were patrolling the area, launched to pursue them as they opted to escape to Mathare North and shortly after, their motor cycles were intercepted at Drive-In stage on Thika road. It’s at this point that one suspect threw a grenade to the officers. However no casualties were reported during the incident.
