In light of the Nigerian polls whose top office is tightly contended for by President President Muhammadu Buhari and business man Atiku Abubakar, Kenyans on Twitter took to advice the Nigerians not to fight.

This is in reflection of Kenya’s 2017 election violence over presidential candidates Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta.

The presidential election in August 2017 were marred by serious human rights violations, including unlawful killings and beatings by police during protests and house-to-house operations, which according to Human Rights Watch led to the death of at least 12 people while over 100 were badly injured.

This is in relation to a reported death of at least 35 people during Nigeria’s polls this year.

Connecting from that point, Gabiro Mtu on Twitter told Nigerians not to go down the same road saying “…we shed enough blood to flow us a river…”

“May they not enter into the chaos we once had here in Kenya…” added another Kenyan on Twitter.
