Corruption at the Pick As Five Cabinet Secretaries Are Quizzed In one Week

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been put on spot and is sheering in a dilemma as five of his cabinet secretaries where hold to account for lost funds in just one week. The big wigs have been zeroed on by the Directorate of Criminal Intelligence (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

First to be quizzed was tourism Cabinet secretary who skipped grilling by the EACC on Monday and later appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Sports, Culture, and Tourism on Thursday, he is questioned about a Kshs100 million deal contract awarded to a US tour firm. 

Treasury CS Henry Rotich was, on Tuesday, grilled in connection with the construction of multi-billion-shilling dams amid claims of kickbacks and later reports claimed the Italian firm which was awarded the contracts of constructing Arror Dam and Kimwarer dam in Keiyo South sneaked away and the sites have been abandoned.

Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri and Water CS Simon Chelgui have been implicated in the subsidized fertilizer scandal. Reports indicate that they are set to be summoned by the DCI to help unravel the scandals.

The interior CS Dr Matiang’i also had a close shave when MPs accused him of having benefited from the Ruaraka land scam. A Parliamentary report linking him to the scandal was rejected by the House.

Health CS Sicily Kariuki also under hot soup facing claims of a massive theft of public money under her parastatals such us the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). Despite president Kenyatta’s launched fight against corruption, the fish seems the fish is starting to rot from the head and he must be experiencing hard times to bring his boys to order and is in between a stone and a slab to make his final decision.
