Most accidents are caused by human error, overtaking being the major cause of collisions on our roads. By trying to overtake, a driver caused death of four people On sunday morning.

Four people died and several others were injured on Sunday morning after a saloon car collided with a passenger bus at Marula area on the Nakuru-Naivasha Highway.

The accident occurred as the driver of the private car — a Toyota Wish — was trying to overtake, causing a head-on collision with the oncoming bus.

According to Rift Valley traffic enforcement officer Ziro Arome, four of five occupants of the Toyota Wish died on the spot while one sustained serious injuries and has since been transferred to Naivasha Hospital for treatment.

The bus christened ‘Climax’ was heading to Nairobi from Butere while the saloon car was moving towards Naivasha from Nakuru.

The 64 passengers, who were travelling in the Climax bus, were left nursing minor injuries following the incident.
