Ander Herrera limped off less than 20 minutes into the crucial match with Liverpool. The setback came moments after Juan Mata pulled up and was soon also forced off.
Herrera was replaced by Andreas Pereira, 23, while Jesse Lingard, only himself back from injury, came on for Mata.
It is a chaotic start for United with England striker Marcus Rashford limping following an early challenge.
The forward is clearly not moving freely after an incredible five minute period for the home side at Old Trafford.
