A female Form Three student, 17, was found dead right outside a lodging facility at Njipship Market in Trans Mara East, Narok County last Friday.

According to Njipship Location chief, Titus Tonui, it is suspected that the Kisiara Secondary School student, who was five months pregnant, died while procuring an abortion.

The student had checked into the facility with a middle-aged man said to be her boyfriend.

Chief Tonui says it is suspected the student, who disappeared from home on Wednesday after eating supper with her family, used medicine to terminate the pregnancy.

Upon realising that his lover was in so much pain, her boyfriend fled the lodging. He, however, asked one of the lodging attendants to “look after a sick lady whom he had left in one of the rooms as he went to look for drugs”. The attendant, however, did not check on the girl.

The teenager was overwhelmed and while in excruciating pain, she tried stepping outside the room she was booked in.

She, however, fell to the ground and died on the spot.

In her room, police found a pool of blood.

The lodging attendants remained unaware of the development until they saw a pack of dogs feasting on the girl’s body.

“The dogs had really deformed her head,” said a witness.

The learner’s body was moved to Kapkatet District Hospital mortuary as police hunt for her suspected boyfriend.
