The boy was grazing the family’s sheep and goats when he felt hungry and decided to wander into a makeshift homestead where herders usually kept their food and water.
It is reported that the 40-year-old man arrived and was infuriated that the boy had cooked Ugali using his flour.
He took a rope and tied the boy’s hands and neck, then hanged him on a tree before immersing his hands inside the boiling water.

The boy was found unconscious by his family two days later lying under a shrub after his disappearance was reported at Kargi Police Post.
He was rushed to a nearby dispensary before being referred to Marsabit Level Four hospital and later to Consolata Mission hospital, Nkubu, in Meru county.
According to the head of nursing at Consolata Mission hospital, Julia Muthomi, the boy’s two hands will have to be amputated as they cannot heal.
“Currently, the burns are not improving. There is a plan to amputate the right hand from above the elbow and the left hand along the fingers,” she revealed.
She, however, stated that the boy had made remarkable progress, adding that they were dressing the burns and administering pain-killers.
