Striking Nairobi county workers today added a dramatic twist to their call for salary increment by littering City Hall’s main entrance as the strike enters its 11th day.
The workers first stormed offices at City Hall Annex throwing out employees who were on duty forcing them to join the strike.
A section of the demonstrators went on to engage the police leading to a bitter exchange of words.
The workers who vowed not to go back to work until their promised increment is effected, then crushed dust bins and dumped garbage at the main VIP gate at City Hall.
The incident forced the police to lobby teargas canisters to disperse the demonstrators.
