Well for one lucky South African whose identity is not known, he/ she correctly matched five numbers and has won a Sh1.6billion (R232 million) Powerball jackpot, Ithuba Holdings, South Africa’s national lottery operator, has revealed.
The PowerBall was standing at R232 131 750 after 24 winner-less draws. The winning combination for the PowerBall jackpot was; 14, 18, 21, 26, 35 PowerBall: 5
The lottery firm says the winner is yet to claim the money.However, after that 365-day period is up, the cash prize gets forfeited.
“The ticket was bought at a OK Mini Mark Tygerdal in Goodwood, Western Cape. The player used a manual selection method, with a ticket wager amount of R22.50. The winner has not yet contacted Ithuba,” the operator said in a statement.
The winner becomes the first person in South Africa to win the biggest PowerBall jackpot after a man from Secunda, Mpumalanga, won the R145 million Powerball jackpot in August 2018.
