A police officer on 20th February was beaten to death by a mob when he accompanied the landlord to collect money from a rent defaulter.
The officer based in the area was confronted by residents and beaten to death on the spot.
Speaking to journalists, County Police CommanderAdan Yunis stated that the officer was killed at Sagutiek area by members of the public.
“He was in his lawful duties escorting a landlord to his plot when members of the public turned against him beating him with crude weapons that killed him on the spot,” he stated
The county commander stated that investigations had been launched into the matter with one suspect already in custody.
“We are promising that no stone shall be left unturned until we ensure that all those behind this heinous act are arrested and charged,” he added.
The investigations are underway and residents are urged to respect police officers as they put their lives in danger trying to protect the citizens.
