Mafirifiri MCA Njambi and two colleagues suspended for kirimino conduct

Nominated Nairobi Member of County Assembly Mary Njambi, well known for her phrases ‘kirimino’ and ‘mafirifiri’ during a protest by the Nairobi MCAs has been suspended along two of her colleagues for unethical conduct.

The MCAs have been suspended for 10 days by the Assembly’s Powers and Privileges Committee, who said that the conduct of the three, on September 10, would reflect negatively on the dignity and integrity of the Assembly and its members.

She has been suspended alongside MCAs Laura Mwende and Nancy Muthami for their said conduct during an attempt to evict the then Speaker Beatrice Elachi from office. 

The suspended MCAs will miss allowances that come with committee and Assembly sittings. They will for the l10 days miss 10 committee sittings and six Assembly sittings.

The committee further ordered them to apologise to the Assembly and its members on their return.
