Deputy President William Ruto has not paid the Sh50 million he promised the national team football team Harambee Stars on October 12.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa said he is optimistic the DP will honour the pledge.

Mwendwa on Thursday said it is likely that the money will be delivered in March when the full team will be around.

“We have been making calls to follow up on this payment but no payment has been made yet. We are still waiting,” noted Mwendwa.

Sports PS Kirimi Kaberia divulged that the issue was being followed up adding that the AFCON budgeting was still underway.

“We are following up on the matter, no payment has been made yet but the whole budgeting of the AFCON league is being worked on,” he explained.
