How Much Will It Cost Chelsea To Sack Maurizio Sarri? SHOCK Pay-Off Figure Revealed

Maurizio Sarri would be a surprisingly cheap pay-off by Roman Abramovich’s standards.

The Blues boss looks set to receive the boot in the coming weeks as pressure mounts on the Chelsea board to change the man in the dugout.

Sarri will be hoping to buy himself some time by beating Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

But Abramovich’s history of sacking managers means it looks certain the former Napoli chief is on his way.

But surprisingly, Chelsea will not have to stump up as much cash as usual when Sarri is eventually shown the door at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Sun, the Italian will be paid just one year’s salary, which means a £5m lump sum for the former banker.

Sarri’s backroom staff will receive £1m between them, apart from assistant Gianfranco Zola, who is paid more than his fellow coaches.

And while a £5m payout may seem a lot, it will actually be the smallest severance package delivered by Abramovich since he bought Chelsea.

The Chelsea boss has sacked eight managers during his time in west London, forking out a whopping £89.3m in doing so.

Jose Mourinho was paid £18m after his 2007 departure and another £9.5m when he was dismissed in 2015.

Andre Villas-Boas’ disastrous tenure at the helm saw him receive a whopping £12m payoff, while another flop Luiz Felipe Scolari was given £12.6m.

Roberto Di Matteo won the Champions League in the May of 2012 but was sacked just months later, receiving £10.7m.

Sarri’s predecessor Antonio Conte was awarded £9.5m, with Carlo Ancelotti and Claudio Ranieri both given £6m.
