Highest level of illiteracy among listed contributors to Baringo insecurity

Baringo is currently bleeding as five national reservists police have reportedly been killed. An unknown number of livestock have also been stolen after suspected Pokot bandits attacked Arabal in Baringo South on Thursday morning.

Kenyans have lamented on twitter saying its high time Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General Joseph Boinnet take action and address the nation on state of security in Baringo South.

Baringo County Police Commander Robinson Ndiwa said the incident was a shocker.

“This took people by surprise because the place was peaceful. Nobody expected an attack even the relaxed herders had left their animals to graze freely,” Ndiwa said. 

Although Ndiwa revealed the area was previously peaceful, Kenyans have exposed Some of the major contributors to the insecurity in the region.

One has been identified as uncoordinated, reluctant and dysfunctional top-level police service.

Another contributor is political treachery.Apparently some people fund banditry for political mileage.

Highest level of illiteracy in some areas has also been put on the list.
