Baringo bandits kill police and 4 civilians

Due to a banditry attack by a suspected neighboring community, a National Police Reservist and four civilians have been killed in Baringo South.

The attackers are said to have made away with a number of livestock which they drove towards Karau in the neighbouring Tiaty sub-county.

The Thursday 3am attack is suspected to have been carried out by armed criminals from the neighbouring Pokot community.

Baringo County Police Commandant Robinson Ndiwa said locals responded and a fierce exchange of fire ensued between the bandits and police reservists. He added that police are pursuing he armed bandits.
