They say ‘siku za mwizi ni arobaini’ but for these monsters of people, it has taken less than a day to have them in custody.

Firstly, a man has been arrested for being part of the gang that hacked a woman to death, injured her husband and raped their three granddaughters in Litein, Kericho.

Then another suspect was lynched by an angry mob after he allegedly confessed to being part of the gang.

The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and positively identified by three victims of the attack, DCI boss George Kinoti said on Thursday.

The gang of four armed with crude weapons broke into their Litein house, injured a 78-year-old man and killed his wife aged 73.

“The men also robbed them of unknown amount of money and sexually assaulted their grand granddaughters three girls aged 11, 13 and 20 years, positively identified the man after an identification parade was conducted,” Kinoti said.

“Detectives are doing everything possible to bring all the four suspects to justice.”

During the incident, the house help was hit with a blunt object and seriously injured.

“It is a gory scene; blood is splashed all over. The police have cordoned off the scene of crime. It is not known yet what the criminals were after,” a neighbor Mr Geoffrey Rono Katares told The Nation yesterday.

On Wednesday angry residents of the area are reported to have called for help but momentarily disallowed the police from moving the deceased’s remains decrying the rising levels of insecurity in the area.

They demanded answers for runaway insecurity and the murder of three people in the last six months.

” Good job but that criminal should be pressed proper on his testicles mpaka asema gang members wenzake wote including those who never participated in recent attack in Litein cz apparently it looks like a network of criminals,” said @KipngenoJ.
